This information provides guidance on the management of HCE patients across Western Devon during the COVID-19 pandemic. The information is based on national (British Geriatric Society) guidance.

Home Based Care service
We continue to work closely with our colleagues in the community teams, so please do contact your community nurse, your consultant or the Home Based Care Inbox ( firstname.lastname@example.org) or Helpline (01752 432 681) if you have any questions or concerns.
Falls clinics are resuming in early August. There is currently a long waiting list and the wait to be seen could be upwards of six months. When referring, please follow the falls referral criteria that's available on the Falls Clinical Referral Guideline.

Urgent/Complex referrals which would have been to the HCE rapid access clinic can be discussed with a geriatrician via the HCE telephone advice line: 01752 431909 (Monday- Friday, 09:00-17:00)
All urgent new appointments are being reviewed by a consultant and will only be offered if absolutely essential.
Patients may be offered an appointment by telephone, rather than face-to-face.
