This information provides guidance on the management of Oncology patients across Western Devon during the COVID-19 pandemic. The information is based on national guidance from the NHS England and the South West Cancer Alliance which includes regularly updated resources for patients and health care professionals.
Where appropriate existing new and follow-up routine appointments have changed to telephone consultation.
Referrals will be triaged by a Consultant Oncologist and where appropriate an outpatient appointment will be given to the patient.
For urgent advice please send through the standard portal for referrals which is manned by a member of the Oncology team on a regular basis (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm).

Risk factors for face-to-face review will be evaluated on case by case basis.
Advice and Guidance services aim to maintain operational standards and meet the needs of the patient and service.
Patients will be contacted by their oncology team with advice on shielding and social distancing based on a national risk stratification grid of medication and comorbidities.
